Price and free access
On 30 October 2026 the US App Store listed Dear You as Free with in-app purchases: Dear You Plus (Monthly) at USD 6.99 a month and Dear You Plus (Annual) at USD 39.99 a year. The listing and terms describe a free tier (first daily letter, two Open When letters, one future letter waiting at a time, write-back notes, search, Face ID lock, PDF export and backup). Terms updated 20 July 2026 say the annual plan includes a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers and that exact prices in your currency are shown by the App Store before you confirm. These are US store quotes, not a price for every country.

Privacy and your data
The privacy policy updated 20 July 2026 says letters, notes and preferences stay in a local database on the device, with no accounts, ads or analytics. The only network activity named is subscription verification through Apple and RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous identifier and Apple purchase receipt information, never letters, notes, name or contact details. Optional Face ID, Touch ID or passcode lock is handled by iOS. Export and permanent deletion are available in Settings. The US store privacy label lists Purchases and Identifiers as data not linked to you. These are provider statements, not an independent audit.
This is a source summary. Data flows, deletion and third-party access have not been independently audited.
What happens in a crisis?
The terms updated 20 July 2026 say Dear You is not medical care, psychotherapy, counseling or crisis support, and tell readers who are struggling to reach a qualified professional or a local crisis line. That notice is a disclaimer, not an in-app crisis response.
